Academic programme

After taking the placement test, the student will be able to register in the Spanish culture courses of their choice by filling in the relevant form provided in the information folder, given upon arrival. The form can also be obtained at the Registration Office.

General Courses: from 7 th January to 20th June and 6th October to 19th December

Extra week: 160 Euros

Examination fees (Spanish Diploma): 40 €

Certificates (duplicates and special reports): 15 €

How to register

Send the following documents to the Registration Office for Courses for Foreigners:

• Registration form completed and signed.
• Two photos (passport or identity card size).
• Photocopy of passport or Identity Card.
• Photocopy of bank transfer for the payment of the course.

Cancelación y devolución de matrícula

El 80% del importe de la matrícula si se anula con más de 30 días de antelación al comienzo del curso.  El 50% si se anula en los 30 días anteriores al comienzo del curso.  En otro caso no se devolverá ninguna cantidad.  La reserva de alojamientos no se devolverá en ningún caso.

Accommodation

The UIMP offers students the possibility of staying with Spanish families, at walking distance from the Campus. For those interested, the Registration Office can provide relevant registration forms, prices and conditions upon request.

• Residencia de La Playa (Península de la Magdalena).- Las habitaciones son dobles con baño y existe un servicio gratuito de autobús que traslada a los alumnos hasta el lugar de las clases en el Campus de Las Llamas. El horario es a las 8,45 h. y a las 15,45 h, de lunes a viernes, no festivos.

General Requirements

• The minimum age for registration is 18. Students aged 16/17 wishing to attend courses will be required to provide authorization form duly signed by the parents or legal guardian.
• Special conditions will apply for groups (minimum age, admission, registration, etc...)
• Classes are held from Monday to Friday, the lectures will be offered in the morning.
  
• Crash courses will have to last a minimum of two weeks.  Students wishing to follow any general courses for a minimum period of three months will benefit from a 10% to a 15% discount on their enrolment fee (provided this is done in one single payment)
  
• The incorporation of new students to the general courses for beginners (January-June and October-December) will take place the first Monday of the month, depending on the number of students registered. We strongly recommend inquiring about availability at the Registration Office . Intermediate, advanced and higher level classes will start every Monday.
• Should any modifications be made to the General Programme of courses above, relevant information regarding the number of hours required for the Attendance Certificate will be provided in due time.

Examinations, Certificates and Diplomas

Attendance Certificate

At the end of each course, the student will receive an Attendance Certificate from the UIMP, indicating level according to the Common European Framework of Reference; this certificate will include the number of hours, and the level attained and de mark.

In order to obtain the certificate, it is compulsory to attend 90% of Spanish language and Culture classes, according to the schedule as well as the hours of Culture courses based on the general programme and timetable. A workshop Certificate of Attendance can also be issued upon request.

Examinations and Diplomas

Examination is not compulsory. Only those students wishing to obtain the UIMP Diploma of the Spanish Language (beginner, intermediate, advanced and higher) will be required to sit the examination.

Exam registration dates and fees will be announced in due time; these fees, bases on the information indicated on the corresponding table, will have to be paid at the Registration Office desk during the last week of the course.

DELE examination

The UIMP holds accreditation from the Instituto Cervantes as an examination centre for the DELE ( Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera ) for the examination sessions of May, August and November.
